Brandon Jackson May Have Taken Backup Running Back Spot From Montario Hardesty

The Cleveland Browns' Brandon Jackson might have just taken the backup running back spot from Montario Hardesty.

While Jackson was hesitant to call himself the backup, Hardesty has had two fumbles in the Browns' last two games, and head coach Pat Shurmur said that trend won't bode well for Hardesty if it continues, according to ESPN Cleveland.

The two are vying for time behind currently injured rookie Trent Richardson, who is expected to return for the first game of the regular season.

Jackson was playing with the first team on Sunday while Hardesty did only a few drills. He told The Plain Dealer he was fine despite donning a sleeve on his right leg.
