Browns Roster Projection: Could Cleveland Go With 4 Running Backs?

The Cleveland Browns are banged up in the backfield right now, and that may lead to them keeping four running backs on the team instead of the three that many teams carry. The most notable injury concern, of course, pertains to rookie running back Trent Richardson, who had his knee cleaned and scoped earlier in the preseason. Backup Montario Hardesty, though, has experienced soreness recently and third stringer Brandon Jackson missed all of last season with an injury.

That four-deep scenario is exactly the one expected by Chris Pokorny in his projection of the 2012 53-man roster over at Browns blog Dawgs By Nature. Pokorny believes the Browns will decide to keep those aforementioned three backs as well as Chris Ogbonnaya as extra injury insurance, at least until Richardson can prove that he's 100 percent healthy.
