The Cleveland Browns trail 14-7 to the Chicago Bears at halftime as the preseason winds down on Thursday night. With the starters sitting out in anticipation of the regular season, many reserves are being given their final shot to impress the coaching staff.
Bears back-up quarterback Josh McCown thrived in the first half against Cleveland's back-ups, completing 16-of-20 passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. The Browns haven't been nearly as successful through the air, with Colt McCoy and Seneca Wallace combining for 43 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Cleveland has been successful in the running game, though, rushing 15 times for 92 yards in the first half. With Wallace taking over at the end of the half, the Browns were able to get the offense going, completing an eight-play, 80-yard drive with a touchdown. If that's any indication, the team could play better in the second half.
