While the big news of the day in Berea was Pat Shumur naming Brandon Weeden as the starting quarterback, a couple other rookies will immediately be thrown into the fire with the first team starting this Friday against the Lions. Second-round pick Mitchell Schwartz will get reps as the first-team right tackle, taking over for the turnstile that's occupied the position in recent years. Schwartz was drafted to play right away and he's taken first-team reps from the very first minicamp.
In addition to Schwartz, Shurmur also stated that newly-drafted Josh Gordon will also play with the first team on Friday. Via Will Burge of ESPN Cleveland 850 WKNR:

#Browns coach Pat Shurmur said Mitchell Schwartz will be with the 1s and Josh Gordon will also get some snaps w the 1st team Friday
Schwartz should provide a solid bookend opposite All-Pro Joe Thomas. Gordon will hopefully provide a big-play threat for the new starter Weeden.
