Browns Dimitri Patterson Will See Increased Action With Joe Haden Suspended

Without Joe Haden at cornerback for the next four games, the Cleveland Browns will turn to Dimitri Patterson as the starter. At Wednesday's practice, Patterson, in his seventh season, lined up with the first unit at left cornerback in place of Haden.

Haden is serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances after testing positive for Adderall in the offseason. Haden will be eligible to return after the Browns' game against the New York Giants on Oct. 7.

The Browns' starting right cornerback, Sheldon Brown, returned to practice on Wednesday and was not on the injury report after suffering a neck stinger in the Browns' Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. It is expected that in three receiver sets Brown will remain on the right side, but Patterson will shift to cover the slot receiver and Buster Skrine will come in to cover the left side.

The Browns take on the Cincinnati Bengals at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday in Cincinnati.
