Cleveland Browns rookie running back Trent Richardson did not take kindly to comments made by Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Rey Maualuga on Wednesday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer.
When asked if the comments will be in his mind come game time, Richardson responded with "most definitely," as well as with this warning for Maualuga and the Bengals' defense:
"I let my game speak for itself, so if they want to see how mad I am, or how upset they got me about the comment, you'll see Sunday."
Richardson certainly didn't have a stellar debut, and Maualuga wasn't the only one to say something about it. Even Richardson acknowledged that he hasn't "done anything yet." However, the rookie is fired up for the game between the in-state rivals, and won't shy away from trying to knock Maualuga's helmet off like he did to the Eagles' Kurt Coleman, as Richardson told Cabot.
