Browns vs. Ravens: Cleveland heads to Baltimore trying to plug holes on defense

The Cleveland Browns will need a much better performance out of their secondary when they take on the Ravens in Baltimore on Thursday night.

US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The Cleveland Browns head to Baltimore in hopes of fixing their struggling defense before this week's Thursday night game on Sept. 27. The Browns defense has struggled the past two weeks, particularly their secondary which has allowed three touchdowns in each of their two most recent games without cornerback Joe Haden.

The Browns are still tinkering with lineups in attempt to find the right combination while Haden serves his four-game suspension. In their 24-14 loss to Buffalo on Sept. 23 cornerbacks Buster Skrine and Dimitri Patterson both lost their men, resulting in Buffalo TDs.

Cleveland currently has the sixth worst pass defense in the NFL, having allowed 807 yards and eight TDs in three games; and things won't get any easier against Joe Flacco and the Ravens. Baltimore is ranked third in passing offense with 904 yards through the air and last week Flacco torched the New England Patriots for 382 yards passing and three TDs.

The Browns take on the Ravens at 8:20 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27.
