Cavaliers Move To 5-1 In Pre-Season With Thrashing Of Philly

The Cavaliers, on the strength of 57% shooting and 22 points from J.J. Hickson, scored 66 points in the first half tonight and never looked back, dropping the Philadelphia 76ers 111-95 and improving to 5-1 in the preseason in games not involving Russian teams.

Cleveland, after trailing by one after the first period, blitzed Philly for 38 second-period points, and maintained a double-digit lead through the third quarter before salting things away in the fourth.

Eight Cavs finished in double figures. Besides Hickson’s 22, Daniel Gibson poured in 15. Anderson Varejao made his presence felt with eleven rebounds, which was matched by Hickson, and Gibson led the way with nine assists.

The Cavaliers will try to move to 6-1 in the final preseason game on Thursday against the Milwaukee Bucks.
