Defenses Settle In; Hawks Lead Cavs By A Dozen At The Half

After a combined 67 points between the Hawks and the Cavaliers in the first quarter tonight, both offenses were cooled off in the second quarter, and with Cleveland scoring 20 of the combined 39 points in the second stanza, Atlanta’s lead over the Cavs has been cut to a dozen at the intermission, at 59-47.

J.J. Hickson remains hot for Cleveland, scoring 18 in the half on seven-of-eight from the field. Ryan Hollins is next for the Cavaliers with six, followed by Jawad Williams and Anthony Parker with five each.

For Atlanta, looking to remain undefeated at 4-0, Marvin Williams leads with 14, backed by Joe Johnson with 11.

Atlanta has cooled down from the field but is still shooting 53.5%, while the Cavs stand at 49% from the floor.
