Ah, it was so close to being euphoria-time for a while there, when the Cavaliers led Miami 49-39 with less than two minutes left in the first half.
Unfortunately the Heat scored the last seven points of the half and cut Cleveland’s lead to 49-46 at the break. Hopefully the momentum will not carry over into the second half, and the Cavaliers can stay in this thing.
Cleveland has shot 50% to hang in there in this contest which appears — on paper — to be oh-so-one-sided. Mo Williams leads the Cavs with 11 through two periods, while Daniel Gibson has nine.
For the Heat, LeBron James has 13 points and Chris Bosh is next with 12. Miami has been to the line 16 times, while the Cavs have been to the stripe just six times.
The last 24 minutes can be a catalyst for the next little while to snap the Cavs out of their funk, or it could turn quickly into what has become familiar of late — a blowout.
Buckle your seatbelts as the Cavaliers try to achieve the semi-miraculous.
