The Cleveland Cavaliers got plenty of scoring from plenty of people Tuesday night in Boston, but in the end it was another loss for the Cavs, 112-95 to the Celtics. Paul Pierce scored 17 points in the first quarter before finishing with a game-high 24 points in a game the Celtics took control of late in the 1st quarter and never looked back.
Christian Eyenga led the Cavaliers with 15 points and J.J. Hickson grabbed 17 rebounds to go with 12 points for the Cavaliers who lost their team-record 22nd consecutive road game, their 18th straight loss overall.
Ramon Sessions had 14 points, Antawn Jamison had 11 points – only 2 after the 1st quarter – while Joey Graham and Samardo Samuels each had 10 points for the Wine and Gold.
With Shaquille O`Neal out, the Celtics were happy to see Kendrick Perkins back in the lineup. He scored 7 points in 17 minutes. Rajon Rondo scored 11 points to go with 10 assists for the Celtics who seemed to be in cruise control much of the night.
Up next for the Cavaliers is a home game on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets before the team finishes up the month of January with a back-to-back in Orlando and Miami.
