In a season that is completely lost, the Cleveland Cavaliers will have one star shine bright during the 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend.  The NBA announced that Daniel Gibson will compete in the 2011 Foot Locker Three-Point Contest, to be held on Saturday, Feb. 19 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Gibson will join reigning champion Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics, his teammate Ray Allen, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, James Jones of the Miami Heat and Dorell Wright of the Golden State Warriors.

The only past winner, other than Pierce, is Allen, who won the contest in 2001.

Gibson enters today 9th in the NBA in 3-point percentage (.439) though his 228 attempts are the 2nd most in the top 10.  Gibson is averaging 13 points per game despite missing 10 games for various injuries this season.
