J.J. Hickson had an up and down career as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Now, as a member of the Sacramento Kings, Hickson took the time to talk to Slam Online about his time in Cleveland and what he feels about the trade. While Hickson was complimentary of the Cavaliers, Head Coach Byron Scott and the trade in general, one answer peaked my interest.
↵Hickson, who entered the NBA Draft after one season at North Carolina State, would have been a Senior this past season, meaning many of the players drafted were in High School at the same time. That said, did Hickson feel the Cavaliers pulled the plug a bit too quickly on his time in Cleveland?
↵"I’ll be honest with you, I think they rushed to judgment a little bit. But, they got what they got and the Kings got a great player in JJ Hickson. So when the season starts, we’ll see how it pans out from there."
↵While Hickson may have a point, it was a move that had to be made. I think we all got the sense of what the post-LeeBron James Cavaliers were all about. The guys who played with LBJ had gotten used to playing with James, used to James being the primary, well, everything. A change in scenery was the best for all involved.
