Cavaliers Vs. Nets: Cavs Try For First Home Win Against Struggling Nets

The Cleveland Cavaliers will host the New Jersey Nets on Sunday as the NBA season moves into 2012. The Cavs are still looking for their first home win and the Nets have lost three straight.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will host the New Jersey Nets on Sunday in the first game of 2012 for both teams. The Nets come into the game having lost three in a row, while the Cavs are 1-2 and trying to pick up their first win at home in the shortened 2011-12 NBA season.

The Nets have been struggling mightily during their losing streak, averaging just 84 points per game and shooting 34.9 percent from the floor. They've been without last season's leading scorer Brook Lopez, who has a stress fracture in his foot.

The Cavaliers are looking to take advantage of the disjointed New Jersey team and even out their season record with a home win. Kyrie Irving is coming off a 20-point effort against Indiana and the Cavs are certainly going to want the rookie to keep the hot hand going in Sunday's game.

The tip-off is set for 6:00 PM ET at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. The game will be televised on FS-OH
