Jeremy Pargo and Donald Sloan are likely battling for one roster spot on the Cleveland Cavaliers' opening night lineup, according to Jason Lloyd of Ohio.com.
Sloan averaged 6.6 points, 3.7 assists and 1.7 turnovers on 40.7 percent shooting from the field in 25 games for the Cavaliers last season. Sloan has seen limited playing time this preseason and has recorded eight assists and seven turnovers in six exhibition games.
Pargo, who appeared in 44 games with the Memphis Grizzlies last season, has committed nine turnovers while averaging a team-high 4.7 assists a game for the Cavaliers this preseason. Pargo averaged 2.9 points and 1.3 assists in just under 10 minutes with the Grizzlies in 2011-12.
The Cavaliers fourth-overall selection in the 2012 NBA Draft, Dion Waiters, has been penciled in as the team's shooting guard and head coach Byron Scott would like to keep him at the two-guard so not to put more responsibility on the young rookie out of Syracuse.
