The Cleveland Cavaliers opened preseason play on Monday night with a 91-85 victory over Italian club Montepaschi Siena.
Cleveland struggled early on against the Italians, and actually trailed 36-33 at halftime. However, the Cavs found their offensive groove in the second half, exploding for 58 points. Siena was able to keep the game competitive in the second half, but the Cavs broke the game open in the fourth quarter.
Six Cavs scored in double figures on the night, led by Samardo Samuels' 14 points on 6-8 shooting. Star point guard Kyrie Irving, who broke his right hand in July, scored 10 points but shot just 1-7 from the floor. 2012 No. 4 overall pick Dion Waiters chipped in with 11 points in 15 minutes of action, while No. 17 pick Tyler Zeller scored 7 points in 26 minutes.
