Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott is impressed with rookie Kevin Jones but does not have a rotation spot for him yet, according to Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Jones appeared in five games for the NBA D-League's Canton Charge where he averaged 23.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game. He was ranked third in points and rebounds in the D-League while recording a double-double in four of the five games in which he participated. Jones had a season-high 31 points and 16 rebounds in his second game in the D-League.
Scott was "surprised that he played as well as he played" in practice but says that he would like to see him participate in a couple more before making room in the rotation.
The Cavaliers waived Luke Harangody to make room for Jones on the roster.
Cleveland is attempting to establish a rotation without starting guards Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters who are both recovering from injuries.
