At the half, Team Chuck is up on Team Shaq by 12, 77-65. Team Chuck shot 69-percent in the first half and a large reason for that was Cleveland Cavaliers rookie point guard Kyrie Irving.
Irving scored 18 points in the first half on 7-for-8 shooting (4-for-4 from beyond the arc) and is currently the game's leading scorer. As a result, he is the early favorite to take home the Most Valuable Player award if the score holds up. Irving also had three assists and two steals.
Irving was not the only hot-shooting representative of the Cavaliers, though. Irving's teammate Tristan Thompson, who is on the opposing Team Shaq for this game, is 5-for-5 with a Team Shaq best 10 points.
