Cavaliers Vs. Nets Score Update: Cleveland Hanging On To 53-50 Halftime Lead

The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to avoid a four-game losing streak tonight against the New Jersey Nets. Through the first half of play, they are hanging on to a 53-50 lead.

The Cavaliers built a big lead in the first quarter, 30-17, behind nine points from rookie big man Tristan Thompson. The Nets rallied in the second quarter, though, flipping the script and pulling within three before the break.

Nets' star guard Deron Williams has a game-high 19 points on 5-for-12 shooting. Thompson has 17 points and seven rebounds for the Cavs. Thompson's fellow rookie and Rookie of the Year favorite Kyrie Irving was just 3-for-10 shooting in the first half and had two turnovers to go with his three turnovers.
