Magic Vs. Cavaliers: Cleveland Hosts Orlando For Third Consecutive Game

Patchwork Cavs face Magic for their third game in three days.

Presswire

The Cleveland Cavaliers (20-38) wrap up a back-to-back-to-back stretch of the schedule on Sunday evening when they host the Orlando Magic (34-25) at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Cavs have shown plenty of resolve under coach Byron Scott competing with make-shift lineups while Kyrie Irving and Anderson Varejao remain out with injuries. Irving has missed the last seven games in a row with a shoulder injury and will likely be out one more game, looking to return on Tuesday at Detroit.

But the Cavs shook off two tough losses to the Indiana Pacers to beat the Washington Wizards on Saturday night with Antawn Jamison also sitting to rest in the middle of the current three-game stretch. D-League call up, Luke Harangody gave the Cavs a boost with 16 points much like recent addition Lester Hudson has off the bench, as Scott continues to squeeze out a solid effort from his squad despite the injuries issues.

The Magic have their own issues with all-star center Dwight Howard on the shelf with a lower back injury. Orlando is trying to maintain their standing in the playoff race in the Eastern Conference with the hope that Howard can return for post-season play. That will be their motivation to take it to a weary Cleveland team at the Q.

The game is scheduled to 6:00 p.m. ET and will be televised on Fox Sports Ohio.
