Cavaliers Vs. Knicks: Cleveland Faces Playoff Bound New York

The Cleveland Cavaliers will host the New York Knicks, who have now clinched a playoff berth, on Friday.

Presswire

The New York Knicks, filled with superstar talent, finally were able to put it together this season to snag themselves a playoff berth. Carmelo Anthony has played lights out in recent weeks to lead them there, and they might be getting Amar’e Stoudemire back from a 13 game injury when the Cleveland Cavaliers host them on Friday night.

Cleveland is not in quite as good a position as the Knicks are right now. Their star rookie Kyrie Irving continues to miss games through injury and their lack of depth is showing in the worst way as they have only gone 3-8 in the month of April. At this point, they're just playing out the stretch to get to the draft, where they can add another young talent to their already young and talented group featuring Irving and Tristan Thompson.

The Knicks will have something to play for with the Dwight Howard-less Magic the team just above them in the standings, so Cleveland will have a handful with a red hot Carmelo coming to town.

The game will be at Quicken Loans Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET.
