Cavaliers Vs. Grizzlies: Cleveland Starts Final Week Of Season

The Cleveland Cavaliers will face the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday in their third to last game of the year.

Presswire

The stretch is officially being played out for the Cleveland Cavaliers. The final week of the season is here for Cleveland and with a 4-9 record so far in April it looks like the season is going to end with a whimper. They won't get an easy finish as they face the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday in their third to last game of the year.

Memphis have done better than expected so far in 2012, looking to get a top four finish in the Western Conference. They will need to beat the Cavs to get it, but that's certainly not a problem for the hot Memphis team. They're on a tear right now with 14 wins in their last 18 games, with four straight wins over sub .500 teams going into the game against the Cavaliers. It will be made even easier with Cleveland still staving off a handful of injuries.

It might just be better for the Cavs to boost their lottery pick chances at this point with this lost season almost at its end. They've been so bad on the road recently that it might just be a foregone conclusion anyway.

The game will be at FedExForum at 8:00 p.m. ET.
