The Cleveland Cavaliers are going to get the NBA preseason action started with a matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 9. According to the official website, the Cavaliers will take on the Milwaukee Bucks at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. That is the home of the Canton Charge, the Cavaliers' NBA D-League affiliate.

"This is an exciting situation for us to be able to bring a Cavaliers preseason game to Canton and continue to build and develop the deeper, long term relationship we want to have with our fans here and the community at large," said Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena President Len Komoroski.

This is the first preseason game announced for any team. It should be a nice boost for the Charge and help drive their ticket sales. Season tickets are a big deal for D-League teams, and the fact that this game is included in the price of those tickets is definite incentive.

Last year, the NBA planned to host an exhibition game in Canton, but the lengthy NBA lockout forced the game to be canceled. This will be the first time the Cavaliers play a game in Canton.
