The Cleveland Indians today announced the club has signed OF Austin Kearns to a free agent Major League contract for the 2011 season. Kearns, 30, returns to the Indians, where he spent the first four months of the 2010 season before being traded to the New York Yankees on July 30.
Serving on both the Indians and the Yankees squads in 2010, he hit .263 (106-403) with 21 doubles, 10 HR & 49 RBI in 120 games (.351OB/.395SLG/.746OPS).
