The Cleveland Indians and Shin-Soo Choo saved some money on headache medicine today after the two parties agreed to a one-year deal worth $3.975 million, avoiding arbitration.
From Tom Withers of the AP, the Indians extended their arbitration hearing-free streak to 20 years. (LET’S GO TRIBE!)
Obviously the Indians organization and Indians fans everywhere want to see Choo sign for longer, but the fact that the two parties were able to work things out for a one-year deal is always a good sign. The close to $4 million deal is an increase of almost $3.5 million over what Choo was making a year ago.
Good news for a guy who went 20-20 and batted over .300.
