The Cleveland Indians made a move today, acquiring relief pitcher Joe Martinez from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named or cash. Martinez, 27, went 1-0 with a 4.12 ERA in nine games with the San Francisco Giants and Pirates last season.
Over his 18 big-league games the past two year, Martinez is 3-3 with a 6.16 ERA. he has been impressive in the minor leagues with a 45-35 record with a 3.58 ERA in 128 games.
The latest addition means the Indians’ 40-man roster is now full.
