A Horrifying Baseball Story In The Atlanta Braves' System

Sometimes life jumps up and makes our games less important. And sometimes something happens with the games themselves that is simply tragic, and horrifying.

Atlanta Braves' Class A manager Luis Salazar was hit by a baseball off the bat of Brian McCann on March 9 during a spring training game, and unfortunately, Salazar has lost his left eye.

The full details can be found in this story from Yahoo! Sports.

↵

Salazar is supposed to be able to return to his managerial duties with Class A Lynchburg in the Carolina League. Let us hope that that is the case, and that Salazar will fare as well as he can in the situation.

We Clevelanders have our own bitter memories of players hurt (Herb Score) or killed (Ray Chapman) by a baseball -- best wishes, Luis Salazar
