A small fire inside the spring training home of the Indians in Goodyear, Ariz., has forced the Indians and Colorado Rockies to change up their pre-game routines before today’s game between the two clubs.
The Rockies have been asked not to take batting practice at the stadium due to the fire that caused some damage, but fortunately no injuries.
“The sprinkler systems worked effectively and contained the fire to limit the damage,” said Bart Swain, the Indians’ director of media relations. “Fortunately, no one was hurt and we plan on playing today’s game as scheduled.”
Emergency crews arrived just after 7 a.m. ET and quickly contained the fire that looked to start in a laundry room.
