On a day when their park in Goodyear, Arizona, sustained damage from a fire in the laundry room, and on a day when Shin-Soo Choo played the outfield for the first time this spring, the Indians moved back to .500 in Cactus League play with a 6-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies.
Chad Huffman and Lonnie Chisenhall homered in support of Fausto Carmona, who fanned two in three innings of work to move to 2-0 in the pre-season. In all, six Tribe pitchers limited the Rockies to seven hits, while the Indians banged out eleven hits in eight turns at the plate.
Chisenhall and Huffman both collected three hits, to augment their power displays.
Tomorrow Cleveland plays two split-squad games, one at “home” against the White Sox, and the other “on the road” against the Seattle Mariners, the new home of recently-traded Aaron Laffey.
