The Indians, fresh off of Fausto Carmona’s second victory of the preseason in a 6-2 victory yesterday over the Colorado Rockies, will split squads today and face both the Seattle Mariners and the Chicago White Sox under the sun in Arizona.
Seattle is 2-3 in the young exhibition season while Chicago is 1-4. In the meantime, yesterday’s win evened the Tribe’s “practice game” mark at 3-3.
The Mariners earlier this week acquired veteran right-hander Aaron Laffey from the Indians, and with former Cleveland skipper Eric Wedge at the Mariners’ helm, the game takes on a little added flavor.
And the game with Chicago? There is always something special, even in the preseason, about a game against a divisional opponent…
…Especially a divisional opponent that will be your foe when the season begins in 27 days.
