Drew Pomeranz Has A Way Of Making Pitching Look Easy

I was not all that aware of Drew Pomeranz before I read this column by Bud Shaw.

Pomeranz glided through two innings against Colorado yesterday with three strikeouts and no base-runners.

The 2010 first-round draft choice will probably start the season in A-ball at Kinston, but that is not a certainty, and with more outings like yesterday's, it would be hard to send him deep into the organization, although we don't want to get ahead of ourselves.

Even so, with Pomeranz and Alex White, last year's Tribe minor-league pitcher of the year, things are looking up for the Indians on the mound, and who knows? Maybe these kids will be the next Sabathia and Lee.

Doesn't hurt to dream, right? After all, it is springtime.
