Twins Take 3-0 Lead After Three In Minnesota

After not allowing a hit through 2 1/3 innings, Fausto Carmona allowed four in a row in the third inning, and the Minnesota Twins have taken a 3-0 lead over the Tribe through three.

Brian Duensing has been tough through his three innings, shutting down the Indians on just one hit — a second inning single from Orlando Cabrera. Having thrown only 39 pitches thus far, Cleveland had better find a way to solve Duensing soon or this one could get out of hand fast.

Orlando Cabrera did steal second base after his single, putting himself in scoring position, but Michael Brantley ended that threat, and in the bottom of the third the Minnesota went to work.

With one out, Alexi Casilla singled and moved to third on a single to right from Denard Span. That was followed by a run-scoring single from Jason Repko, putting runners on first and second, still with only one out.

Jason Kubel plated both runners with a double, giving the Twins a 3-0 lead, and after Justin Morneau struck out, Kubel went to third on a wild pitch from Carmona.

Fausto was able to finally end the inning by getting Michael Cuddyer to fly out, but the damage had been done and the Indians had a hill to climb.
