Indians Vs. Mariners Rained Out; Game Will Be Made Up In August

The Indians’ game with the Seattle Mariners made it to the bottom of the first inning today, but the rains became steady with the Tribe at bat against Erik Bedard, and after almost two hours of waiting, the game was postponed.

The game will be made up in August, when the Mariners make their next visit to Progressive Field. August 25 is at present an open date for both teams, after a three-game series between Seattle and the Tribe, so that is one option. The other, of course, would be a doubleheader, but one would think that that could be accomplished just as well tomorrow, so the game will most likely occur on the open date.

The rain-out takes Alex White’s spot in the rotation and — well — washes it away after White went a perfect first inning. Of course, that inning will not count in White’s stats.

This now becomes a two-game series and will conclude on Sunday afternoon at 1:05
