Asdrubal Cabrera 2nd At Short, Orlando Cabrera 4th At Second In All-Star Voting

With 18 days remaining until the Major League All-Star game, two Indians' infielders are among the top five at their position, while two outfielders have cracked the outfield top 15.

According to votes tabulated as of June 21 and coming to us via MLB.com, Asdrubal Cabrera is second among shortstops, slightly over 400,000 votes behind the Yankees' Derek Jeter. Meanwhile, Orlando Cabrera is currently fourth among second-basemen, with less than a quarter of the votes of New York's Robinson Cano.

Asdrubal Cabrera leads all AL shortstops in runs, hits, homers and RBI. Somehow seeing Jeter out there (assuming that Jeter will be back by then from the disabled list) will be a little grating. But it is what it is.

In the outfield, Grady Sizemore is 13th in the voting, while Shin-Soo Choo is 15th.

If the current numbers hold to form, the American League will have five Yankees in the starting lineup, with two members of the Boston Red Sox and a representative each from the Texas Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays.

The All-Star Game will be played in Phoenix on July 12, with rosters to be announced on July 3.
