Ordinarily, this is where I would post a bunch of numbers, show you ERA’s and comment on how a pitcher has done against a team.
You know, just the basic preview stuff.
But today I am going to try something a little different, and make this a very abbreviated look at the game tonight.
Why, you might ask? Because I am going to try — for one day, at least — to change the Indians’ fortunes by changing the way we look at the next game.
Fausto Carmona will take the hill at 7:05. Carmona is 3-6 on the season with an…um, with a high ERA.
Carmona will be opposed by the Rangers’ Derek Holland, who will face the Tribe for the first time, and who is 4-1 on the season, with…um, a rather high ERA.
There. Simple. Basic.
Just the way the Indians have to start approaching things, to get back to their winning ways.
Simple. Basic.
If the Tribe wins tonight I might just do something similar tomorrow, to change things up. After all, a win would demand that superstition be catered to. And if a different kind of preview led to a different kind of result against the Rangers…
…why would I want to mess with that formula tomorrow?
