After missing the entire 2012 season due to knee issues, free agent outfielder Grady Sizemore will miss at least the beginning 2013 season after undergoing microfracture surgery on his right knee in September.

Sizemore's agent, Joe Urbon, confirmed the 30-year-old outfielder had the procedure and would likely miss the first half of the 2013 season. This is the second time Sizemore has undergone microfracture surgery. He had the procedure done on his left knee during the 2010 season. Urbon said the latest procedure was "a lot less invasive" than his previous surgery.

Knee issues are nothing new for Sizemore, who has been plagued by injuries since the 2009 season. Sizemore played in 106 games in 2009 before being limited to 33 in 2010 and 71 in 2011. He re-signed with the Indians last season, but suffered a setback and was unable to return to the field.

Sizemore has reportedly attracted interest from several teams, but would likely have to sign a minor-league or incentive-laden contract.
