The Cleveland Indians had a thriller in their first game against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field, winning a close 9-8 game after being as many as seven runs down at one point. They'll be sending out their best arm so far this year in order to try and get their second straight win and boost their record two games over .500 for the first time this season.
Derek Lowe will be on the mound facing the team that he debuted with. Lowe has pitched very well in his first two games, earning a 1.98 ERA in two wins. The 39 year old will face 29 year old Jason Vargas for Seattle. Vargas is currently 1-1 with a 3.44 ERA.
The Indians will look take a lead and hold it rather than need to come from behind by seven runs again on Wednesday, hopefully using better pitching to do so. In Tuesday's game both pitchers had forgettable evenings with both being pulled by the time the fifth inning came around.
The game will be at SafeCo Field at 10:10 p.m. ET.
