The Cleveland Indians (7-5) look to continue their strong play of late when they face the Oakland Athletics (7-8) in the middle game of a three-game weekend series in Oakland.
Cleveland held on to win the first game of the series 4-3 on Friday night as closer Chris Perez nailed down the win with his fifth save of the season. The Indians have won six of their last seven games as Perez has earned the save in his last five opportunities.
Right-hander Jeanmar Gomez will make his second start of the season for Cleveland while his five-game suspension for his part in the bench-clearing mess with Kansas City is under appeal. The Athletics will counter with Brandon McCarthy on the mound. The Athletics' right-hander will be looking for his first win in his fifth start in the season, entering the game with an 0-2 record and a 3.60 ERA.
The game is scheduled to start at 9:05 p.m. ET and will be televised on SportsTime Ohio.
