Indians Designate Nick Weglarz For Assignment, Add Jose Lopez, Option Jason Donald

The Cleveland Indians were very busy on Saturday, though that's it wasn't all good news, even from an objective standpoint. It was earlier reported that the Indians recalled pitcher Zach McAllister to make an emergency start in place of Josh Tomlin, who had a sore right wrist.

On top of that, the Indians also purchased the contract of Jose Lopez from Columbus, and optioned Jason Donald, according to a Tweet from the Indians official Twitter:

The Indians are giving Lopez another shot, despite the fact that some don't agree with the move. At any rate, he hit .522 at Columbus, going 12-for-23 in that vein with four RBI and four doubles. He hit .190 and went 4-for-21 with one home run and three RBI for the Indians.

To make room for him, the Indians designated outfielder Nick Weglarz for assignment. They announced that on Twitter, as well.
