The Cleveland Indians picked up their second straight win over their Central Division rival on Wednesday night, defeating the Detroit Tigers 4-2 at Progressive Field. It was a thrilling win, full of comebacks and huge strikeouts by the Tribe pitchers in a couple key spots. Vinnie Pestano K'ed Alex Avila in the 8th with the bases loaded to preserve the two-run lead, and the crowd erupted.
Manny Acta certainly has to be pleased with his club, which has won seven of the past nine games. Acta has really come out of his shell over the past two seasons, and is one of most likable personalities to steer a Cleveland pro sports team in some time. After the big win on Wednesday, Acta was seen mouthing the words to "Cleveland Rocks" as he took the field for the post-victory handshake line -- certainly happier circumstances than Jered Weaver singing "Hit The Road Jack" as he was yanked in Texas.
