Indians Vs. Royals: Cleveland Looks To Bounce Back After Sweep

The Cleveland Indians will start a series against the Kansas City Royals on Monday, trying to shake off a sweep in their last series against the White Sox.

It was a bump in the road for the Cleveland Indians on their quest to win the AL Central as they were swept by the Chicago White Sox in their last series while their biggest competition for the division, the Detroit Tigers, won three straight against the Minnesota Twins.

Getting back to Progressive Field against a team that has been rather sub-par lately could be the cure to what ails them, at least that's what the Indians are hoping as they start a series against the Kansas City Royals on Memorial Day.

It wouldn't be wise for the Indians to overlook KC -- the Royals have a better road record than home record at 14-10 away from Kansas City. They are also on a two game winning streak following a series win in Baltimore, as opposed to the three game slide that the Indians find themselves on.

Game one won't feature much of a marquee pitching match up. The Indians will send out Josh Tomlin, who has been on the DL with wrist soreness since May 7 and has a 1-2 record and 4.67 ERA. Nate Adcock will take the mound for the Royals. Adcock has an 0-2 record with a decent 2.33 ERA but only 10 strikeouts all season. He has walked six.

The game will be at Progressive Field at 4:05 p.m. ET.
