Indians Vs. Reds: Josh Tomlin Looks To Atone For Last Week's Disaster In Cincinnati

The Cleveland Indians host the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday in Game 2 of a three-game series.

After an awful start against the Reds last week, Cleveland starter Josh Tomlin will try to exact some revenge -- and chip away at his 5.56 ERA. Tomlin, 3-4, was tagged for 10 hits and six earned runs in the 12-5 series finale loss in Cinci. He lasted just 4.0 innings.

Tomlin's ERA after one start this season was 7.20, and he's had a tough time getting down. It got as low at 4.67 on May 7, but promptly shot back up. In his four starts since then, he has given up 17 runs and has nine strikeouts to six walks. He has two K's in his last two starts.

The Reds will start Mike Leake, who is 2-5 with a 5.05 ERA. Last week against Cleveland he pitched 4.1 innings and gave up three earned runs.

The Indians go into Tuesday's matchup 0.5-games back of the AL Central-leading Chicago White Sox -- but just two games ahead of the surging Detroit Tigers.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 Eastern.
