The Cleveland Indians will be well-represented at July 8th's MLB Futures Game at Kauffman Stadium. Shortstop Francisco Lindor and first baseman Jesus Aguilar will both play for the World Team.
The Indians think Lindor will thrive in the game.
"The Futures Game is a great venue, and Lindor is a great player for that venue," said Indians vice president for player development Ross Atkins. "He likes the spotlight, he likes the expectations. You can watch him in one game and see why people are so excited about him. You don't need to see four and five games."
The 18-year old Lindor is the youngest player selected for the game. He is hitting .285 with four home runs and 23 RBIs for Class A Lake County. Meanwhile, Aguilar, 21, is hitting .295 with six home runs and 30 RBIs for Class A Carolina this season.
The game can be seen on MLB.TV and ESPN 2 on July 8 at 4 p.m. CT.
