The Cleveland Indians (28-24) complete their weekend series with the Minnesota Twins (19-33) on Sunday afternoon Progressive Field. The two teams split the first two games of the series after Minnesota slugger Joe Mauer pounded his way out of a mini-slump to carry the Twins to a 7-4 win on Saturday.
Cleveland looks to keep pace with the Chicago White Sox, also losers on Saturday, as the Indians remain one and a half games back in the AL Central Division. Starting pitcher Justin Masterson will also try to bounce back from a poor outing in his last start. Masterson is 2-4 on the season with a 5.14 ERA and like his team, trying to bounce back from a rough performance in his last outing when he gave up seven earned runs in six innings to take the loss against Kansas City.
Minnesota will counter with Scott Diamond who has been strong since joining the Twins' starting rotation in early May. Diamond is 3-1 with a 2.27 ERA in five starts.
The game is scheduled to start at 3:05 p.m. ET and will be televised on SportsTime Ohio.
