Carlos Santana Injury: Indians Catcher Activated For Series Against Tigers

The Cleveland Indians have activated catcher Carlos Santana for the team's Tuesday night game in Detroit against the Tigers. Santana was put on the seven-day concussion disabled list on May 26th, with the Indians promoting Triple-A catcher Luke Carlin to fill his spot. The slugging catcher resumed cardio activities last week, played in a rehab game on Monday at Lake County, and was expected to be activated sometime this week. With the Indians slumping and heading into another important division series in Detroit, word came down that Santana would return and also be in the lineup on Tuesday. The Indians optioned infielder Juan Diaz to make room, via Nick Camino of WTAM:

Camino also reports that Santana will DH and bat fourth in the lineup on Tuesday, as the Tribe decides to go with three catchers (Carlin, Santana, and Lou Marson) for now. Santana blasted a two-run homer in his one start with Lake County on Monday night.
