It was a rough night for Derek Lowe on Friday against the Baltimore Orioles. Still lacking a handle on his control Lowe fell apart in the third inning, giving up six runs to the visitors on their way to a 10-2 win.
Lowe's eight runs allowed matched his total for the entire month of April, when the 39-year-old got off to a hot start. He was out of the game after three innings, having walked five and striking out none. The loss moves him to 8-8 on the season, bumping his ERA up to 5.04.
Asdrubal Cabrera and Jack Hannahan each hit a solo shot to put the Indians on the board.
Former Indian Jim Thome was one of two Orioles to go deep in the game.
It was the second consecutive loss for Cleveland, and the team is now 3-5 since the All-Star break. They get another chance against the Orioles on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
