Detroit led 3-0 after two innings, but Casey Kotchman cut the lead to 3-2 with his 10th home run of the season in the third.

Prince Fielder made it 4-2 for Detroit with a sac fly in the fifth. Quintin Berry's RBI-single in the sixth made it 5-2. Berry is batting 3-for-3 on the night.

Indians Starting pitcher Derek Lowe was replaced by Esmil Rogers after six innings. Lowe gave up eight hits, four earned runs, struck out one and walked three.
