The Seattle Mariners defeated the Cleveland Indians 5-3, extending their winning streak -- and the Indians' losing streak -- to six games.
Ubaldo Jimenez turned in a decent start, allowing 3 ER (including 2 HRs) on 5.2 innings. Jimenez left with the game tied 3-3, but the Indians' bullpen could not keep it close. Tony Sipp allowed a two-run home run in the 7th, giving the Mariners a 5-3 lead.
The Tribe's Jason Kipnis led the game off with a HR, his first long ball since June 10. On the other side, Michael Saunders carried the Mariner's offense, going 3-4 with two home runs.
On Tuesday the Indians will try to best Seattle's ace, Felix Hernandez, to avoid losing their seventh three-game series in a row.
