The Cleveland Indians ended a nine-game losing streak by beating the New York Yankees last night. Ubaldo Jimenez (9-12, 5.59 ERA) starts today against Freddy Garcia (7-5, 4.96 ERA) as the Indians try to win two straight and get their first series victory since they took two of three from the Detroit Tigers in late July.
Jimenez has lost four of his last five decisions. He's faced the Yankees once this season, giving up four runs in six innings while striking out seven in a loss on June 27.
Garcia has won all three of his decisions in August. He made two appearances against Cleveland out of the bullpen in June, giving up no runs in 3.1 innings and striking out three. He's 8-6 with a 3.83 ERA in his career against the Indians.
