Indians Vs. Tigers: Sunday Preview, TV Info And More

Heading into a crucial nine-game road swing, Manny Acta's Cleveland Indians were still very much in the AL Central race, but not any more. The Indians have lost the first eight games of the trip and will turn to a pitcher who has not appeared in Major League Baseball since 2010 as they look to avoid a three-game sweep in Detroit.

Chris Seddon, a 28-year-old right-hander who has not seen big league action since pitching 22 1/3 innings as a reliever with the Mariners two seasons ago, has pitched to a 3.44 ERA in 123 innings for Triple-A Columbus in 2012. Indians starting pitchers are 0-7 with a 12.08 ERA on this trip, so a solid start from Seddon would be a huge boost.

The Indians will face off against hard-throwing Detroit righty Max Scherzer (10-6, 4.62 ERA), who struck out eight Cleveland batters in seven innings last Wednesday.
